Sound Alliance is designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(4) social action organization and is thereby free to advocate and lobby on a wide range of important local, state and regional issues. The price of this freedom, however, it that donations to the Sound Alliance are not tax deductible.
IAF NW, on the other hand, is designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. Its activities include supporting the charitable leadership training, research and education work of the Sound Alliance. Donations to IAF NW are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by the law.
Neither Sound Alliance nor the Justice Alliance support or oppose candidates for public office.
